We’ve all been there lying awake at 3 am replaying the same problem over and over, or pushing it aside thinking “I’ll deal with that later.”
The truth is, the longer you circle around a challenge without direction, the heavier it feels. That’s why I want to share a simple 3-step problem-solving framework that I use both personally and with my high-end coaching clients.
It’s the quickest way to move from problem to progress from A to B without wasting unnecessary energy.
Step 1: Define The Problem Clearly
This may sound obvious but when life is busy, we often jump straight into solutions before clarifying what the problem actually is. If you can’t describe your problem in one sentence, you don’t know it well enough yet.
Tip: Write it down in a single clear, simple sentence. This alone will bring focus and clarity.
Step 2: Challenge Your Assumptions
Ask yourself: What assumptions am I making about the worst-case scenario here?
Often, our assumptions unconsciously shape the solutions we come up with. They can limit possibilities and push us toward longer, harder paths. By becoming aware of these hidden assumptions, you’ll uncover options you hadn’t considered before.
Step 3: Redefine Your End Result
Instead of obsessing over the problem, reconnect with your desired outcome. Ask yourself:
- What would I love to achieve?
- What’s the vision or result I’m actually aiming for?
When you align your solutions with your true desired outcome (instead of fear-based assumptions) you open the door to faster, more effective results.
The beauty of this framework is that it helps you step back, acknowledge where you are, strip away fear-driven thinking, and reconnect with your bigger vision. From that place, you’ll see solutions that take you straight from A to B, the quickest road to the result you actually want.
Try it today: Pick a problem, run it through these three steps, and see how your perspective shifts.
Don’t forget to share this and reach out to me if you think I could help your business.
